Native Washingtonian, Sharon Allen Gilder is a freelance writer. She lives in Maryland and South Carolina with her husband. Her stories and articles have appeared in newspapers including: The Washington Post, The Gazette, The Town Courier, The North Potomac Times, The Potomac Almanac, and Great Falls Connection as well as national magazines including: Montgomery Magazine, Montessori Life, Tomorrow's Child, Home & Design, and Advance for Speech-Language Pathologists.
She is an educator and taught at Woodward High School in Rockville, Maryland. She wrote the curriculum, Safety, Touch & Me for the Montgomery County Public Schools and was Director of Marketing for a private school in Rockville. An avid reader, she caught the writing bug at an early age. She penned several children's books that she hopes to see in print one day. Her love of music prompted her to write an Irish drinking song in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. Her original song, "Oh The Whiskey," which she performs locally, can be viewed on YouTube.com.
